Ron Arons was born and raised in New York and currently living in California.
He has traced his roots to England, Poland, Romania, Ukraine,
Belarus and Lithuania. At the last four IAJGS Conferences and also to
local genealogical conferences and other organizations and synagogues,
his presentations can attract standing room only crowds.
Ron has published
articles in AVOTAYNU and is currently working on a book called
The Jews of Sing-Sing. To facilitate his work in this area,
Ron successfully won a 2005 research grant from the New York State Archives.
A veteran of the computer industry, Ron has earned degrees from Princeton
and the University of Chicago.
JGSMI is fortunate to provide an entertaining,
humorous and informative speaker on genealogy research and
how to understand the lives of our ancestors and perhaps why they acted
the way they did.
